Obviously, we can see the happiness score of Western Europe, North America, and Western Europe are much higher than average, and South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa are at the bottom of the world where people feel low well-being. People’s happiness in developed countries such as Europe and the Americas is significantly higher than that in developing countries such as Asia and Africa.

Interestingly, because different countries are at different stages of development, from 2015 to 2020, the happiness scores of some regions have increased over time like central and eastern Europe and western Europe. While the happiness scores of some regions have decreased over time, such as the Middle East and North Africa and North America.

We are curious about what factors affect people’s happiness. In the next question, we will study what makes people happy in different countries.
